Ian Nolan Presents Key Learnings to LAEOG
LS Events Senior Projects Manager Ian Nolan presented a lunch insights session for the Local Authority Events Advisory Group (LAEOG UK) recently as part of a week-long series of virtual workshops for members.
LAEOG UK is the only association dedicated to supporting individuals involved in events within Local Authorities. Open to anyone employed by a local authority with event responsibilities, the group aims to promote the benefits of membership and attract representatives from as many UK local authorities as possible. By doing so, LAEOG seeks to create a unified voice for the sector. We were honoured to be invited to share our knowledge and expertise with LAEOG members, contributing to their mission of fostering collaboration and excellence in public sector event management.
Working to the theme ‘What to look for when appointing an event management company’ Ian drew upon his wealth of experience in working with our public sector clients to share valuable insights for LAEOG UK members.
Key insights for the group included the importance of being open to conversations around key roles and responsibilities as projects unfold to ensure members could get the best out of their contractors.
Ian went on to share best practices around setting KPI’s, outlining what success can look like and advising some practical examples of how gathering evaluation can work in practice as an integrated aspect of the event organisation process.
The final takeaway focussed on the different ways LAEOG members can leverage their events to align with wider council priorities. The key message here being ‘let us know’ and we can work together to align event content with objectives, using resources as effectively as possible.
At LS Events, we pride ourselves on empowering our Local Authority clients and stakeholders to maximise the impact of their events. We operate at the forefront of innovation as a result of our extensive stakeholder engagement experiences across projects like Diwali on Trafalgar Square, The St Patrick's Day Festival and Parade as well as our more complex deliveries such as the UEFA Champions Festival 2024, Pride in London, BST Hyde Park and All Points East / In the Neighbourhood.
Thank you LAEOG for inviting us to participate in this valuable initiative for their members.
