Formula E London
LS Events has worked with Formula E since 2018, initially in a crowd consultancy capacity and now across global iconic races. When a London race was added to the championship in 2021, LS Events became the local operator, building the robust and mutually beneficial relationship.
On these strong foundations, we have continued to grow and in 2023 won the role of London Fan Village delivery partner. After two rewarding iterations in London (and more work globally), these multi-year contracts have merged, and are currently in place until 2026.
Global Reach
LS Events have been engaged to provide international project management, site management and consultancy services for races in South Africa, UAE, India, Brazil and the USA. This developing relationship demonstrates our ability to work alongside clients to add value and remain flexible to service their needs anywhere in the world.
Indoor/Outdoor Circuit
LS Events provide the planning, management and delivery of the Formula E season finale double-header event that takes over London Excel creating the world’s only indoor/outdoor motorsport circuit.
Excel London is a complex building that has mainly levels and the race track is not only inside for prime grandstand viewing but surrounds the whole building providing some logistical challenges to ensure a smooth operation particularly nearer to event days.
The LS Events traffic and logistics team alongside site management provide the support, knowledge and liaison with Excel staff to ensure all parties are accommodated and a smooth on-site delivery of the event.
Stakeholder Licencing and Permits
London Excel is a complex indoor venue with many permits and stakeholders including the neighbouring Docklands Light Railway and London City Airport.
The LS Events team provide all the management and liaison between Formula E global teams and the Excel venue team to collate all the required documentation to ensure a seamless relationship with all stakeholders who assist in delivering the event.
Specific permits that are required for drones, helicopters and any works with the DLR tracks have to be obtained and the constant communication between the LS Events, Formula E, Excel and the local authorities is what makes this major sporting event a success!

Complex Site Management & Venue Design
LS Events provides a dedicated site management and venue design team who work closely with the Formula E Global Track & Overlay team. This team are responsible for the delivery of the build and de-rig programme, the overlay drawings and management of the local and global suppliers on-site.
LS were a key partner in delivering the Formula E event while Excel constructed a whole new building - extending their indoor footprint. It was an iconic moment when the drivers were racing through a partially constructed building safely. The site management, traffic/logistics and health and safety teams were instrumental in supporting the execution of a meticulously planned construction phase plan that allowed the event suppliers, the construction contractors and event teams to work together on-site to deliver the race track, hospitality spaces and broadcast feature!
